Inaugural Auction Highlights
Every ticket in our first auction found a new home. A Wayne Gretzky debut set the all-time record for a hockey ticket, 19 lots sold for more than ever before, and 68 tickets received their first-ever public price.
A Record for Hockey History
Lot 1 was the full ticket to Wayne Gretzky’s first professional game, played for the Indianapolis Racers on October 14, 1978. Graded PSA 2, it is the only full ticket from that game PSA has graded. Bidding opened at $25,000 and closed at $252,006 after 74 bids, the highest price ever paid for a hockey ticket.
Before this sale, the only public sale of any ticket from the game was a stub that sold for $18,000 in 2019.
Every Lot Found a Buyer
All 203 lots sold, none with a reserve, and 198 of them drew more than one bidder. Collectors placed 5,146 bids, a median of 22 per lot, and the final hammer total came to more than six times the combined opening bids. Even the 38 lots that sold for under $100 drew a median of six bids each.

19 Record Prices
Nineteen tickets sold for more than any copy of the same ticket had ever sold for in public. The biggest jumps:
68 Tickets Priced for the First Time
For 68 lots, no copy of the ticket had ever sold publicly, so this auction set the very first market price. A few standouts:
- Frank Robinson MLB Debut (1956): one of only six graded. Opened at $5,300 and climbed to $22,200 on 71 bids.
- 10-Cent Beer Night (1974): the first ticket from the infamous riot-and-forfeit game ever to sell publicly. $19,500 on 82 bids.
- Joe Montana NFL Debut (1979): the highest graded of three unsigned copies, fresh to market. $11,760.
The Most Contested Lots
The biggest bidding wars weren’t always over the biggest prices. Vince Carter’s “Dunk of Death” stub from the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the only graded stub from the game, drew more bids than anything else in the sale.
| Vince Carter “Dunk of Death,” Sydney 2000 | 85 bids |
| 10-Cent Beer Night, 1974 | 82 bids |
| Michael Jordan First NBA Dunk | 76 bids |
| Wayne Gretzky Pro Debut | 74 bids |
| Frank Robinson MLB Debut | 71 bids |
What Collectors Are Saying
“Definitely most amazed at where the 10¢ Beer Night tix and your Vince Carter dunk ended at… I would feel very confident placing tix up for auction with Front Row.”
“That is a bonkers price… You did good!”
